BS 5839-6:2004 Fire detection and alarm systems for buildings.
T&P Fire can design and install fire detection and alarm systems in dwellings, commercial and Industrial properties.
We are able to design a system and supply equipment for your own staff to install and on completion, commission and certify the installation.
BS 5839-6:1995, to which most premises comply has been withdrawn. It has been replaced by the new edition of BS 5839-6:2004, which is the key standard for fire detection used by fire authorities and building control officers.
Important new changes includes:
- Special design requirements for fire detection and fire alarm systems in dwellings
- Recommendations on domestic smoke alarms
- New technologies including multi-sensor detection, carbon monoxide detection and heat detectors
- Fire warning systems for those with impaired hearing
- Recommendations for limiting false alarms by appropriate system design, system management and improved technology
- Recommendations on how to approach risk assessment and determine system design
T&P can provide a comprehensive report and recommendations to ensure your premises meet the requirements of the new BS 5839:2004.
